So wonderful September 3, 2010 Janice E. Morfin This product was wonderful. I ordered it for my mom for her birthday and I don't think I could have made a better choice. It's filled with tons of cute decorating ideas and is very user friendly!
wonderful book August 31, 2010 Nicole Kellagher this is a wonderful and creative book! i made the mum flower cupcakes for my younger sister's birthday party and everyone kept asking what bakery we got them from! no one believed they were homemade!
Great fun August 29, 2010 dephal (California) My 10-year-old saw this book in a store and absolutely had to have it. Since we acquired the book, she and I and some of her friends have made several of the projects. They're pretty labor intensive, but they're simple enough that 6th graders (with some help) can have satisfying results. We've had a lot of fun with them, and it's been a great activity fo play dates or afternoons when the weather precludes going outside. Some of the ingredients have proved a little difficult to find (I tried 3 stores before giving up on silver dragees) but we've managed with substitutes. As for the taste of the cupcakes, they're okay. Probably would be better with homemade mix and frosting instead of store bought. But the kids are very pleased with them, they look fantastic, and they're great entertainment to make.
good but not as great as the first book August 18, 2010 Family of four (Washington DC) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
If you need an ingenious cupcake book get "Hello cupcake" this was a lukewarm sequel.
It was good, but not great
Family Fun! August 14, 2010 Carol (California) I bought both the Hello Cupcake and What's new cupcake at the same time.
My daughter and I had great fun making these. While they were time consuming, they got RAVE reviews from the extended family, and the ones we made tasted great!
The Chicks, on the front cover, were delicious! We used lemon mix, with the added ingredients as suggested. We used donut holes, but could only find glazed ones, which made them even sweeter, but still delicious. (my favorite so far!)
We also made the Flamingos, (using strawberry Pocky from the Asian aisle instead of pretzels, which cut down the prep time) Billiard Balls, and the Chrysanthemums, which turned out beautiful.
So far that is all we tried, but it was great fun and we had a lot of laughs along the way. It was great bonding time with my adult daughter. I recommend it to anyone who does not mind spending quality time with someone you love.
